Digital Unite (DU) brings digital literacy to Britain's older people – every day. DU is Britain's specialist in Digital Inclusion for Older People.
It works through a network of specialist DU Tutors, through their Community Programmes, and an annual outreach campaign, Silver Surfers' Day.
DU's mission is fourfold:
- To bring media literacy to those who might not otherwise find access easy.
- To enable other organisations and agencies to deliver media literacy by engaging with and capacity building their service users and by developing and evolving their own skills and services.
- To maintain, develop and increase a network of 'expert trainers'. Through them, to deliver appropriate training, in the most appropriate manner in both professional and vocational environments.
- To share our skills and discoveries through promotion and publication of best practice
