Uk Online centres provide access to computers together with information on how to use them. There are over 6,000 UK online centres, on high streets, in libraries, in Cafes, and community centres. There are even some on mobile buses!

When the UK online centres network was formally launched in 2002, the issue of digital exclusion was seen primarily in terms of access: tackle that and the journey to becoming a self-sufficient internet user was inevitable. Evidence from UK online centres and from other practitioners in the field has shown that the picture is far more complex. It’s not just about creating pathways to technology, it’s about highlighting the potential benefits and facilitating and supporting use.
