Drumahoe residents have been getting to grips with the internet thanks to a partnership between digital inclusion project EverybodyOnline and Drumahoe Community Association.
Over a ten week period, Drumahoe residents learned the basics of using a computer, surfing the internet and sending e-mails to family and friends with help from EverybodyOnline staff and volunteers.
The success of the group was celebrated at a special event held in Drumahoe Primary School where participants received certificates in recognition of their achievements and new found computer skills.
Speaking at the event, Drumahoe resident and participant on the EverybodyOnline course, Sandra Doherty, said: "Learning the computer has opened up a whole new world for me. It's amazing the information available to you at your fingertips.
"I never thought the internet would have been so useful and I'd encourage everyone to give it a go."
Building on the success of the partnership, EverybodyOnline and Drumahoe Community Association will be running a new series of courses in 2009 to help people get online.
