Employers
It is unlikely but not impossible that employers would get public funding for homeshoring (any attempt would probably flounder on state aid grounds). However grants might be available to individuals for pre-employment training or for physical access needs.
Employment and Skills Sector
Organisations recruiting and developing potential homeshorers, particularly from poorly qualified and unemployed groups, would need a funding stream to deliver the requisite recruitment, assessment and training processes needed. Funding for this type of activity could come from:
• Capital funding for ICT equipment and buildings from economic development agencies
• A continuing contract with a contact/call centre or homeshoring service provider
• Revenue support through LSC or ESF contracts
